Melissa Marrapese, Ph.D..

Dr. Marrapese has over two decades of experience working in the fields of criminal justice, forensic psychology and psychological assessment. Her background includes work in prisons, the parole board, forensic psychiatric hospitals and as a EAP provider for the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Dr. Marrapese has extensive experience providing therapeutic services to trauma survivors and first responders.

Dr. Marrapese earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Psychology from Bastyr University, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Washington School of Professional Psychology and a Doctorate from Saybrook University & Research Center. She then returned to Seattle and completed a post doctoral fellowship at The Fremont Community Therapy Project, under the tutelage of esteemed forensic psychologist and feminist therapist, Dr. Laura Brown.

The focus of Dr. Marrapese’s therapy practice is EMDR, as a treatment for adolescents, adults and first responders. Dr. Marrapese also has extensive experience in psychological assessment, including forensic assessment and training organizations to recognize the impact of trauma in the workplace.

Dr. Marrapese is licensed to practice psychology in California, Virginia and Alaska, and is an active member of EMDRIA (EMDR International Association).
